#1 is really interesting to me because, well, the actual race would last very long (aircraft carriers are very big, but not that big). BUT, the actual build up or aftermath of something so weird would be fascinating and fun to delve into around that plot "set piece." #5 has some intriguing psychological tension, too . . .
